Easter Weekend-ing

Today is Easter Monday, which is a very confusing sort of day in Canada. It’s not really an official holiday, but schools, daycares, government offices, libraries and so on are closed. At my husband’s office, people in some positions get the day off, and others do not. He’s in the not camp, so I’m spending the day at home with my kids. It means that today is either the fourth day of your extra-long weekend (pretty much everyone gets Good Friday off here), or the first day back, or if you work at home like me it means that you’re trying to get some work done while your kids play in the thankfully sunny backyard.

Some long weekends are about camping, some long weekends are about backyard barbecues, and some long weekends are about stuffing yourself full of turkey. For my family, this particular long weekend has been about putting on your fanciest clothes, hanging out with your relatives, and eating as much chocolate as you can get your hands on. Plus, a little bit of gardening and egg-hunting and basking in the beautiful sunshine thrown in for good measure. It really was very lovely indeed, and it all makes up for the fact that I’m a little behind as I grapple with Easter Monday.

Here’s what the Easter weekend looked like for us:

Mama and Hannah

Jacob got a hold of his mom's iPhone

Basil and tomato seedlings

The cousins with Great Grandma Bea

Giant bird!

Beautiful day on False Creek

Happy Easter

Daffodils at Rocky Point

    1. Your easter looks much, much warmer than ours.

We’re lucky around here, my husband works for the school board so he gets the same stats as V…in other words I worked today while they played.
Oh! and that pink dress was V’s easter dress last year! http://www.flickr.com/photos/neeroc/5662035636/in/photostream/ and then she loved it to death and wore it almost every second day all summer *g*
