Mother’s Day is this weekend, and while it’s not exactly my favourite holiday, it does have its charms. The handmade gifts the kids bring home from school. The inedible breakfast you choke down with a smile. The excuse to do absolutely no cleaning for 24 hours – all great things.
It’s been a while since I’ve done any sort of giveaway on Strocel.com, and Mother’s Day seemed like the perfect time to throw one together. I have some books and a DVD I received as promotional items and I’m using them to help share the love with my fellow moms. Or dads. Or interested readers. I actually don’t discriminate, when it comes to giveaway winners. If you are a childless bachelor, you too could win some books written with moms in mind. I bet you can’t wait! Here’s what’s up for grabs:

- For my Children: A Mother’s Journal of Memories, Wishes and Wisdom by Dionna Ford
- The Happiest Mom by Meagan Francis
- Bad Mommy by Willow Yamauchi (I’ll be sharing an interview with Willow in an upcoming podcast)
- Everybody Loves Babies DVD, which came in the same prize pack as the dreaded stretch mark cream
- A gift pack from Rogers Chocolates in Victoria, BC
Fun, right?
I’m going to make this giveaway easy on everyone, including myself. Because, really, who wants a whole bunch of extra work on Mother’s Day? To win, just leave me a comment on this post before Monday, May 14, 2012 at 9:00pm Pacific time. I’ll draw one winner at random for the whole enchilada. Easy-peasy, right?
Also, whether you win this giveaway or not, you may want to head over to Crafting my Life. Today I’m launching my new, totally free, download on that site. It’s called “Four Ways to Kick-Start a Life of Intention”. This Mother’s Day, do something for yourself by taking some steps to create positive change in your life. Or lounge around on the couch all day, and get up on Monday and start taking steps towards positive change. After all, you’ve probably earned a little bit of couch time.
Happy Mother’s Day!

Really excited to see you have a new download on Crafting my Life, too – I’ll definitely be checking that out!

What a nice giveaway! I’d love to read the mother’s journal as I want to make something like that for my own daughter and ideas are needed!
Ooh, I would love to win this! I’ve been struggling with my mothering lately and could seriously use some wisdom.
What a lovely package to celebrate Moms. I would love to read the books sharing mothering wisdom and have wanted to see the Babies movie since it came out. I am a proud Mommy to two beautiful girls (3 and 9 months). The greatest, most rewarding job I could ever imagine having!
Happy Mother’s Day to you!
What a lovely giveaway! This is my first mother’s day on the mother side of the equation.

I haven’t heard of Bad Mommy. I have heard of the other three though. I watched Babies on an airplane ride and it was interesting, yet a bit tedious. I made me feel better about my lack of doing anything (i.e. a lot of TV watching) during my daughter’s first year. I’ve been entering a few contests to win For My Children. I’ll be heading over to Crafting My Life, for sure!
I would love these!!! This awesome giveaway!
Best giveaway I’ve seen in ages.
Was just looking into some of those books and…CHOCOLATE!!
Oh, I saw that documentary and loved it! I hope I win.

Congratulations – Random.org says that you’re the winner! I’m emailing you now to arrange delivery.
Happy mothers day Amber! I’m mixed on the day too, partly because my mom passed away five years ago (not on mothers day, thank goodness, that would be awful) but also bc it seems silly to only be grateful to moms once a year
hoping all the mamas out there have a good day!
Dana’s last post … Welcome Baby
Hey Amber. I am going to be straightforward about this: would L-O-V-E a copy of Meagan’s book. I really enjoyed your eariler post about how we have a choice when we don’t have a perfect day. I am constantly in awe about how much of a mess my toddler, who is an adorable imp, can make in a short period of time, or how much bath water he manages to throw OUT of the tub. It never hurts to hear some positive words. Keep up the posts, they kickstart my mornings (with my dose of caffiene)!
Thanks for the great giveaway.
And Happy Mother’s Day
