I LOVE the movie star pose and Jacob does have a fabulous grin. We tried (and failed) at a family portrait this weekend. Q-ster smiled nicely, but the baby was having none of it. I think an outtakes post is in store . . .

I love love the fairy pose. I may have to borrow it. Very fierce.
For the longest time the girl would close her eyes, scrunch up her nose and grin with all her teeth. That was her camera ready pose.

I'm still getting the "scrunchy face" smiles from Victoria and smiles from Amelia are touch and go. She's hard to catch staying still lately :)

Eve had a movie star pose. It involved sitting in a little fuzzy chair wearing sunglasses and a feather boa, flipping through a magazine (possibly upside down), and when called for supper she would say "is it tacos? Because I only eat tacos."

Have you read The Good Fairies of New York? Hannah could be one, in that pose.

The only posers we've had are pre-teen boys being goofy and cheeky just as I press the shutter button!

"Not to be outdone by her little brother, Hannah upped the ante and broke out the fairy pose. It’s sort of angry, and it includes wings." LOL. So cute and I love your description. My 2 year old had this face she would make anytime someone took her picture - and it always made me laugh. It was a half-lidded, mouth open, squinty look that I never really understood other than perhaps she was sheilding her eyes from the flash. She's stopped doing it now but I have a few good pics of it. My 6 year old simply smiles. My niece holds her hands beside her cheek, tilts her head and smiles. I love Hannah's poses!

Her movie star pose is exactly what the celebrities use when they are showing off a designer gown on the red carpet. So cute! Suzi doesn't really pose, but when the camera comes out she frequently scrunches her nose and grins so big her eyes close. It's cute but sometimes a natural action shot would be nice? I think it's because of my mom. She always says "Look here! And SMILE!" I did the same face when I was little.

I always groan to myself when they get to the age of that fixed, rictus grin. It seems to last for a year or two and is so artificial (unlike Jacob's natural , happy smile). I used to hang around the grand-kids with a camera in my pocket, tell them a joke and then try to catch them acting naturally. Very tricky because once they saw the camera, all natural behaviours went out the window.
