I realize the official start of summer is still a week and a half away. However, in my mind it’s already here. Today I’m sharing some of the signs of summer you can see in my neck of the woods.
Fresh strawberries in my garden.

A patio set inviting you to have dinner outdoors.

An inflatable kiddie pool, ready to go.

Clothes hung to dry.

Fans cooling our house.

A girl in a summer dress dancing in the sunshine.

Bare feet in the grass.

You can keep up with our summer adventures on my Flickr photostream.
What signs of summer are you seeing? Or what are you looking forward to?
PS – I have to offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who gave words of support and encouragement on yesterday’s post. I am speechless and gobsmacked and eternally grateful. I feel like even if I do fall on my face it will be OK, because I’m not alone. And that’s the most important thing – having people to share the journey, however it turns out.

I wish mine would at least wear a bathing suit outside. Naked is how they roll!
I tend to have the nakedest kids in town also. I love that we can run down the street to the park the minute Eve gets off the bus. And all the flowers I kill with love. And watching my kids play baseball without gloves, blankets and balaclavas.
I just read your last post. Go for it, that’s all I can say. You deserve to do what is in your heart to do. Where there is passion, there is opportunity. I hope you’ll share what you’re working on here . . . I’m finding in my personal experiences, right now, that sharing what I am afraid of is empowering me to do what it is that I want to do (for me, that means having a natural birth at home . . . or in a birth center should my husband feel too apprehensive about it happening at home). You know what I am learning? That stating what we’re afraid of is like letting the fear go and letting us begin the work that we really need to do.
Oh, and summer here is looking a lot like summer in Canada, except our clothes rack isn’t as neat as yours is,
I just got caught up & agree with everyone–go for it!!!!
We just came in with our first bowl of strawberries from the back yard too…yummy
Great photos, and again…Follow your dream!!!
What a great backyard! We need to get some patio furniture, because we only have a few wobby chairs and no table.
I love the photos. The last one and the one of your daughter dancing are adorable.
I’m in the mood for strawberries right now.
