What's the Strocel.com email list? Also, I tried to say "hi", but I got an email window. Congratulations on the feature!
I learned that when your kids don't eat cabbage for 6 months, they'll refuse to eat it when it's in season again!

I learned that making felt Christmas ornaments is harder than I thought it was (for me, anyway).

Congrats on Yummy Mummy and also on the BlogHer reference. Did you see that?

How do we get in on this email thing? I'd love to hear from you. Is it that email box up at the top, or am I missing something?

I'm allowed to be dense. Don't mock.

OK, what I learned...that I wrote a great deal too much in November and spent way too much time staring at a screen and interacting with virtual people, and eventually felt out of balance in terms of interacting with flesh-and-blood peeps (say, my son and husband) and the real world I live in (say, my tremendous slob den of a so-called home).

That said, I did write 50,000 words in a novel, so go, me! But I also learned that that is only the first 50,000 words in this particular novel, so onward...but maybe not quite so much writing per day this next month.

Congrats on your submission & acceptance! I have been wrestling with/fretting about this subject myself. I have a couple browser windows open for venues where I could/should submit some writing, but I haven't taken the plunge (into certain rejection and doom — DOOM, I say!).

Sigh.

Fun Amber!

I learned how to make creamy wild rice (turkey) soup. yum.

I learned that Thanksgiving meals can be prepared without milk, eggs, nuts or soy. I even baked a pie crust from scratch for the first time ever.

I remembered that funerals suck, and learned that it's a lot harder to grieve and be sad when you are so busy taking care of little ones.

I learned some Search Engine Optimization tips for titles in my blog posts that have increased google traffic to my blog. :)

Finally, I have learned that I really can forgive people from my past.

I like the monthly reviews!

Let's see, what I learned in November:
1) Cute toddlers have a super power over teenagers, old people, and pets alike. No, really. I didn't believe it before, but I do now.

2) Tempurpedic beds are heavenly.

3) Wine in a box is just as delicious as bottled.

4) A roaring fire, a cup of tea, and a book can soothe just about any mood.

5) It's pretty easy to get used to sleeping in the middle of the bed.

What I learned in November...
1) Replacing carpet with click-down flooring involves WAY more than just changing the flooring.
2) The kids can walk to and from school in not much more time than it takes me to pack-up myself warm up the truck and fight the other moms for a parking space to drop them off or pick them up!
3) I sound like my mother too much for comfort when talking about my kids.
4) Yo-yos are the coolest thing going on at the school right now!

I learned that my daughter is a freaking kick-ass reader (which has happened with very little help or effort on my part), that my son looks really quite goofy without regular haircuts (he's suddenly rebelling against our monthly number four and six razor jobs), that bringing home one little flat-screen tv for my husband's new man-cave (I mean office) in the basement is worth at least a dozen home-cooked suppers, and that it is a really bad idea to go to Farm Boy on the days when they bake the cinnamon buns. :)

I love this tradition, too. These posts are really fun (and funny!). I think it would be a blast for you to read them down the road.

I learned German - lots and lots of German - in November. I know there are other things, but this one has been my biggest priority in the month, so I should hope it's where I learned the most. I really want to try making my own sourdough starter one day. Have you used it to make pancakes, too? That would be very cool!

I like this tradition! I learned that our family really benefits from some sort of a routine to our week and that I can create freed up time by following the routine.
