Ah yes, butter! My toddler likes butter too. And hey, great cape. My mom made me into Little Red Riding Hood when I was about 6 or 7 and we still have th cape and skirt lying around somewhere. Yours is much better though. Mine is definitely retro 70's LRRH.

I love how you are a true blogger - snapping the picture of Jacob and the butter before getting him cleaned up!

The little felt pumpkin is so cute.

love the photo of the canned tomatoes! i'm dreaming that next season, the blight won't kill our plants, and i'll have 40 cans, too!

this october, i learned...
-how to trust the universe a tiny bit more
-that if i put the bate out there, something will bite
-how to use content management systems... really exciting, i know!

The pumpkin patch picture is FABULOUS!

What I learned:
Medical Insurance people are not there to help you.
Dental work is expensive.
There are many things I am thankful for all year long.
I can bring a laptop into a bowling alley and actually get some work done!
A LOT of teenagers are willing to dress up for free candy.

Love this post idea! I learned:
- some interesting things about parenting from a couple workshops I attended
- that blogging can be stressful, overwhelming and rewarding
- what a mess my 9 month old can make when attempting to feed himself
- how easy it is to get kids songs stuck in your head
- that I can actually enjoy cooking (this is a big lesson for me)
Thanks for the opportunity to reflect.

I've never heard of needle felting before. I just went back and read your old post about it as well as watched the video on Craftzine that you mentioned. It looks really fun! I used to do all sorts of crafts but I gave them up once I had kids as they were just too time-consuming. I am definitely putting needle felting on my to do list.

What I learned in October:
-that I'll come up with pretty much any excuse under the sun to avoid my macroeconomics homework
- that a cake made with two boxes of mix lasts forever and ever and ever when there's only a few people to eat it
- that acupuncture is kind of ouchy and not as relaxing as I'd been led to believe
- I can make a pretty good Thanksgiving dinner even if it was just for the four of us.

Love your pictures of all your learnings!I am learning that making goals really helps me to accomplish them.(like committing to planting over 120 bulbs and beginning some homemade Christmas gifts) I also learned that I can overcome my anxieties about visiting people with disabilities (especially the non verbal) and get more comfortable as I get to know them better.(I've been visiting a dear friend who had a stroke last spring)

Oh, and what I learned in October:
- if your kid is sick and you end up not going to the island for Thanksgiving, turkey dinner at the White Spot is more depressing than a regular dinner at home.
- my 2.5 yr old isn't scared of being surrounded by chickens.
- giving a toddler a Sharpie isn't always a bad idea.
Maybe I'll do my own post, this is fun!

What a fabulous way to recap the highs and lows and everyday craziness of life with kids! That's a fantastically cute Little Red Riding Hood and her cape is perfect!

I learned that if you leave your baby happily playing with a piece of paper for just a moment, she will eat the paper, choke, throw up all over herself and your white carpet, then your dinner will burn while you try to clean up her and the carpet!!! Lesson? Never take your eyes off the baby - that two minutes doing something else isn't worth it!
